Terms of Service
Effective June 23, 2026
Overview
Spiral ("Company," "we," "us") operates the Spiral website and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Your use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these binding terms.
License grant
Subject to your compliance with this Agreement, you receive a limited, revocable, non-assignable, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Service.
Incorporated terms
The following documents are incorporated into this Agreement by reference:
- The Privacy Policy
- The Copyright Policy (below)
- The Complaint Policy for trademark and privacy concerns (below)
Account requirements
You may need to create an account and provide a payment method to use the Service. The Service is available to people 13 years of age and older. You represent that you have the authority to enter into this Agreement.
Plans and payment
Trial accounts may automatically convert to paid plans. The Service is offered on subscription plans, usage-based (metered) plans, or a combination of both. Subscription fees recur automatically until canceled. Usage-based fees are calculated from your actual use of the Service, such as the amount of content generated or processed, at the rates shown at checkout or on our pricing page, and are billed for each billing period. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund for past or future payments, including usage already incurred. Delinquent accounts may accrue interest at 1.5% per month. Payments are handled by third-party processors; the Company is not responsible for their errors.
User conduct
You agree to:
- Provide accurate information;
- Comply with all applicable laws;
- Not distribute unlawful or infringing content;
- Keep your login credentials confidential;
- Refrain from hacking, scraping, or harassment.
Content rights
You keep ownership of the content you submit to Spiral. You grant Spiral a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, process, and display your content and to generate writing from it, so that we can operate and provide the Service.
We use Spiral usage data to improve the product, including automated, anonymized review of conversations and drafts to measure and improve quality (for example, scoring how closely a draft matches your style).
We do not use your content to train our own AI models. Spiral relies on third-party model providers (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google) to generate output, and we take best-effort steps to opt out of data retention with those providers so that your content is not used to train their models. Their own terms govern their handling of your data.
You warrant that your submissions do not violate the rights of any third party and do not violate a confidentiality agreement.
Intellectual property
Spiral retains exclusive ownership of all elements of the Service, including its software, trademarks, and output. You receive limited usage rights only.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant uninterrupted access, accuracy, or freedom from harmful code.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Company's liability is capped at $500, and indirect damages, lost profits, and data loss are excluded.
Dispute resolution
Disputes are resolved through binding arbitration in Wilmington, Delaware under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except that small-claims-court cases are permitted.
Children's policy
The Service is not directed to children under 13. If we discover that a user is underage, we will take steps to delete their information in accordance with COPPA.
